Services We Offer

Skagit Transportation currently serves Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, and limited parts of Idaho.

We have dry, refrigerated, and lift-gate vans, all types of bulk feed trailers, numerous varieties of crop specific trailers, and biosolids hauling units to meet our customers’ needs.

Line Haul

Skagit Transportation hauls dry goods, food grade products, and frozen food using modern day cab or sleeper units with either three or four axles. All the dry vans are fully equipped, 53 ft. models, with both three and four axles available. All the refrigerated vans are a combination of 53 ft., three axle models and 53 ft., four axle models that enables Skagit Transportation to haul maximum payloads for their customers.

Animal Feed

Skagit Transportation utilizes various models, sizes, and ton capacities that meet all the needs of their clients to provide feed on a year round basis to their customers. Bulk feed is delivered daily to farms, feed lots, and ranches throughout Washington and parts of Oregon and British Columbia. Bag feed is moved daily as well, servicing country feed stores in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and British Columbia.

To transport bulk feed, Skagit Transportation uses various models of stinger “Auger” feed trailers, ranging in size from 30 to 40 feet. Also used in the bulk feed hauling are belted conveyor trailers with the capacity to haul 32 tons of product. Day cab tractors are used in the bulk feed hauls. Retail bag feed is transported in 53 ft., 4 axle dry vans to maximize tonnage as well as lift-gate trailers for localized deliveries around the greater Puget Sound area.

Equipment

In keeping with the latest in technology and safety features including roll over prevention devices and collision alert sensors on our newer model tractors. With this we hope to give our clients the ease and assurances by knowing we are taking extra steps to keep their products safe and secure. We continue to upgrade our equipment yearly taking advantage of ever developing technology, and constantly maintaining our equipment to assure our drivers are operating in a safe and productive environment.

Biosolids

In 2006, the biosolid industry was added and has been instrumental in diversifying Skagit Transportation. The goals and objectives of our ownership is to continue to grow this sector of our business.

The majority of the biosolid business uses state of the art dump trucks with pup trailers for the hauling of all biosolids for a large account operating out of King County. Various other equipment, including tractors, end dumps and waste water tankers, are used in other applications with smaller municipalities.

Maintenance

Skagit Transportation operates three full service maintenance facilities located in Mount Vernon, Quincy and Seattle. The Mount Vernon shop has three bays and services the company’s tractors and trailers that operate out of the Feed and Linehaul divisions. The Quincy location services our harvest and eastern Washington Linehaul divisions. The Seattle shop has two bays and services the equipment used in our biosolids division.

Harvest Hauling

Today, as it was 60+ years ago, seasonal harvest hauling is a critical component of Skagit Transportation’s overall business. With the help of seasonal employees, and the assistance of independent owner operators, they continue to meet the critical needs of their harvesting customers. As the initial cornerstone of the company, harvest hauling is, and will remain, a vital part of the overall strategy for the well being of Skagit Transportation.

Harvest hauling occurs predominantly in Eastern Washington and the Skagit Valley, hauling crops from the fields to production facilities during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. In addition, the fall harvest of cranberries from British Columbia and Southwest Washington, to cold storages throughout the Pacific Northwest, utilizing both bulk trailers and dry vans to meet the needs of their clients.
